Text Box: From The Judging
Committee
Text Box: We are compiling a list of potential judges for our shows. For now, we are concentrating on judges who live within driving distance of our Salisbury NC show site. That is designed to save us some $$$ for judges expenses. Next, we will solicit input from the judges on our list. We think it would be a good idea to ask them if they would be interested in an invitation from us, and invite them to provide the club members some information about themselves as judges of labradors. Finally, we will submit the list with the judges input to you, the membership, for you to vote on judges. That way we feel all of us will be involved in selecting our judges !!!
For more info OR if you’d like to help with Judges, contact Sharon Smith, Andy Anderson, or Fred Simmons.

Text Box: Many of the other UKC Labrador exhibitors live in Ohio and Michigan. If you are interested in helping with or being in charge of HOSPITALITY for them, please step forward. Some of the ideas that we have been kicking Text Box: around are ways to encourage them to attend our shows but not have the cost be prohibitive for them. Perhaps those of us who have guest rooms might consider opening them up free of charge to ‘out of state’ folks who Text Box: Thinking into the Future: out of state exhibitors
Text Box: As this is written, we are in the process of our ‘final submission’ to UKC for approval as a conformation club ! Yeah !!
Our constitution and by-laws were submitted and returned to us by UKC after about a month, with ‘mark-ups.’ Then we implemented those ‘mark-ups’ after they were voted on by the Board. We also revised our Code of Ethics somewhat to conform to UKC’ feedback.

The other things that go into a club submission are a copy of the newsletter, a copy of our application form, a membership roster, and a synopsis about members. The club information form is the place where we list our aspirations as a Club and proText Box: vide a resume of our club experience.

So now, we will continue to work on our Incorporation in NC. Hopefully that will coincide with our UKC approval which will allow us to schedule a Rules and Regulations seminar. Then …….. We can request our first show date following that !!!!
It’s a long process and a lot of paperwork …… but keep the faith, we ARE getting there !!!!
